Current Game Systems
« on: December 27, 2003, 01:23:29 PM »

Hmm.. kind of thinking about saving up for a new game system. Not sure which I want. Huh

Gamecube is the cheapest right now. Playstation 2 and XBOX are still quite expensive. There's many games on Gamecube I want but also ones on PS2 and XBOX I'd like.

*sigh*...  :-/

So, what did you eventually decide on?

I have a PS2, and I have found that I like the same games better, on my PC. Just something about that mouse and keyboard...

When it comes to console games, I'm a fighting game junky, What can I say?  I just can't seem to get involved in a strategy game with a controller. Sad   That's why I've kept my Japanese Dreamcast. Marvel vs Capcom 1&2, Dead or Alive 2, Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, and various other Japanese fighting games...  And it just looks better than the Playstation2, except for Gen1 games. Godzilla Generations was the only Gen1 game that could hold a candle to the newer ones.    Not to mention how easy it is to "back up" games for it.

For the most part though, I'm a PC person. I just started Knights of the Old Republic a couple weeks ago. Love it so far!

Do you enjoy first person shooters?

I ended up getting an XBOX several months ago on a whim. A pawn shop in a small town had one for $70 so I snatched it up. Grin

Hi Josiah,

Question: X-Box or PS3? Thinking of getting one of them soon, but I'm not sure which...

I hear ya!

Alright, if I were to get an older system, Which would suggest? I've always been a classic nintendo fan (Nes, Snes, N64) but there weren't any really decent RPGs except Final Fantasy. Sad

I would say my favorite older systems are SNES & N64. Of course, Genesis has some good titles as well. Genesis systems are a dime a dozen these days mostly. I have two or three of them myself.

NES & SNES on the other hand, I get $40 and up on ebay for them. N64 is about as cheap and common as Genesis systems, unless you get into special colors and expansion paks, then the price goes up.

Mine has to be the SNES. Mainly for Killer Instinct, Castlevania and Metroid.  Cheesy The 64 didn't leave much of an impact on me which was disappointing. Sad

I mostly prefer more cartoony type games such as Super Mario World (1 & 2), Super Mario 64, Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, Diddy Kong Racing (N64). However I do enjoy a good RPG. I've only ever beaten a few games in my life and all that I can recall are Super Mario World, Zelda: Link to the Past, Mario Is Missing (lol), TMNT: Turtles In Time (my bro aided in that one. it was a weekend rental) and I think that's all.  Roll Eyes

Did you play on Phantasy Star Online at all because that rocked?  Cool

Also, does anyone play on Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance 2 for PS2?
